US Treasury Secretary speaks after China trade talks

Watch live from Geneva as US Treasury secretary Scott Bessent and US trade representative Jamieson Greer hold a news conference.

Officials from China and the US met in Switzerland to talk about trade after Donald Trump ignited a tit-for-tat tariff war between the two countries.

Speaking on Sunday, Bessent said there had been “substantial progress” in the weekend sessions but offered little information on exactly what negotiations entailed.
