The US is tallying up its tariffs on China, which are now at 245 per cent, but that’s not bringing Beijing to the negotiating table. It says it won’t play the numbers game. Instead, China’s President President Xi Jinping is touring the Asia Pacific region shoring up partnerships. So Alicia Barry asked former Australian Ambassador to China, Geoff Raby if the US has picked a fight it can’t win. He said as Washington and Beijing battle it out both have a lot to lose. Mr Raby is an economist, who’s written a book on the topic.
